Looks fantastic. And very efficient of the KWVR getting the guest engines signed up months in advance.

 

Sounds like a nice gala, but, regrettably, it coincides with the GCR ASG and the GCR is a lot closer. When the GCR participants are published I'll make up my mind but with petrol being the price it is the closer to home the better.

Err what about the WD, what's up there?

 

It is not expected that No. 90733 will be in service until after the Autumn Gala.
The line-up is provisional so this may yet change subject to repairs.

 

Please could you explain what is up with 90733? Thanks for posting what is expected at the Gala so well in advance, very helpful and the return of the 4F will be something to look forward to.

 

No. 90733 currently has its 2 centre driving wheels removed whilst work is carried out relating to the axle boxes

4F 43924 has undergone a test run and is now in the final stages of completion - so all ok for the gala at present

45212 returns from the NYMR soon

It is also intended to produce a souvenir brochure for this gala, more details on this will follow shortly.

 

45212 was sounding great on Saturday on the 1 in 49; complete with "Roy Korky Green" nameplates; will these stay on when it moves to Haworth?

 

45212 failed at Pickering on Saturday.

Our Traffic Manager has asked me to announce that Black Five no. 45305 is now confirmed as an additional visiting locomotive. The intention is that the event will include double heading of nos. 45305 and 45212.

• LMS Black 5 No. 45212 running for its last time before overhaul.

• Rare pairing of two black 5s that ran in the last days of BR steam.

• 4F No. 43924 making its first gala appearance since overhaul.

• Other locomotives: BR locos 41241, 80002 (subject to completion of repairs) & L&Y 957. BLS owned “Nunlow”.

• Unique complete Lancashire & Yorkshire Train. Including the first ever passenger operation since overhaul of L&Y Club Car Coach No. 47.

• Light refreshments including cream teas served in the newly restored L& Club Car (small travel supplement will be payable).

• Newly restored authentic vintage train from the Museum of Rail Travel comprising 2 “Southern” coaches.

 

Good news about 45305, fingers crossed that 80002 will be fit and I thought that 47279 had been withdrawn for overhaul and would miss the next gala?

That'll teach me for copying and pasting!

Still an impressive line up though! 2 end of steam Black 5's, for the 2nd time this year! that is 5 Black 5's this year!

When might you know about 80002 and is 90733 and definite "no go"?

90733 was never expected to be ready for this gala so it hasnt shown as running throughout.

80002 is a more recent problem and is still getting fettled.
