uk steam info website

I seem to be unable to access this website on the internet --has anyone else had the same problem?

 

Yes been trying and cant get in I was looking for locomotive movements on 28th for Tornado

 

And here, mentioned it on the 4492 thread in steam traction. Almost started a thread here myself but thought twice in case anyone took it the wrong way knowing how people's minds work on here.

 

I've just tried and no joy.

 

Seems to be working now just got on the site.

The server for www.uksteam.info was down for two periods today between 13:50 and 15:50 and again between 18:50 and 21:33. Apologies for this (unplanned) loss of service.

Is that your own server David, or are you on a shared server with a hosting company?

I've had a package with 1&1 for some years for all my various web sites, and they do go down from time to time. For a variety of reasons. But none of my sites are time critical: except maybe http://www.plandampf.co.uk/ when it is getting close to an event! But still nothing like the immediacy of your info packed site which is very time critical. Just printed off the times for Tangy tomorrow.

 

I think this weeks problems show just how much we all rely on David's splendid service!

Probably we do not show our gratitude as often as we should for this true labour of love.

Thank you David for all your hard work in keeping us all up to date with the latest Main Line timings!
