I think looking at extending the SVR out of Bridgnorth (doesn't have to be all the way to Ironbridge) would be my dream project. Emphasis on the word dream there, I know there have been lengthy discussions about this on other threads!

Large scale covered accommodation, and a modern, one-stop shop workshop facility.

£100m - Manxman and Queen Mary - they are the most pressing preservation need at the moment - any loose change could go to keep the Waverley sailing.

Simples - break the rules and fund locos. The current and subsequent overhaul of 34081 funded, P2 and B17 61630 built, 60800 overhauled, air smoothed MN built. That would be "Tranche 1" and then I'd work out what do in "Tranche 2" with the remaining £80,000,000 plus.

If I really can't spend it on locos than I'd look to the aviation world and help a project or two involving 92 Squadron aircraft.

    Extensive development of the SVR:

    1) Large scale fully equipped diesel and steam restoration/overhaul shed, perhaps at the old sugar beet works, funding for lots of apprentices.
    2) Large scale running shed for diesel and steam, same location.

For the above, think Tyseley in its heyday.

    3) Large scale wagon restoration and storage shed, same location.
    3) Extend down the old Hartlebury route from Bewdley to the outskirts of Stourport.
    4) Extend down the Tenbury line, rebuild the Severn crossing, perhaps to some heritage site, country house or similar.
    5) Railmotor, Autocoach and 517 tank, purchase and restore K&ESR GWR Railcar for same.
    6) Demolition of Engine House and replacement with replica Didcot running shed, suitably altered internally for museum purposes.
    7) £2 million donation to every loco owning group on the valley (per loco, so for example EMF would receive £4 million).
    8) Very large scale donation to SVR companies themselves.
    9) Pay for the restoration and painting of all Valley signal boxes.
    10) Very large scale donation to Kidderminster Railway Museum for completion of outside area - Wrangaton SB, handcrane, etc.
    11) Restoration of Bewdley yard to authentic goods yard appearance, for demonstrations.
    12) Development of Bridgnorth - with the main sheds moved, space at Bridgnorth will no longer be at a premium. SYMPATHETIC development to suit modern purpose.

Now, what to do with the other £50 million...

Donate 5 million quid to a specific loco building project then maybe put some more towards getting one of nations favorite locos back into working condition

Well, if I can't build / restore engines (meanie!), can I build a few rakes of replica pre-grouping / pre-nationalization carriages and run them on some of the lines that only have B.R. Mk.Is and Mk.2s?

Actually, despite the rules, I can't help thinking that if any one of us were to win a vast fortune on the Lottery it would be hard to resist pumping some of the loot into locomotives (as well as carriages and all the other things mentioned so far).
