It looks like it's going to be a bit of a damp one on Saturday, still no chance of lineside fires :)

SG left the Royal Mail at Low Fell almost to time only to be held a few hundred yards further south on at the site of the old Low Fell Station. A southbound EC 225 unit was also held at the adjacent ECML mainline for some time.

Scots was late onto the ECML having left RMT at Low Fell on time due to track problems at the Birtley junction. It left in darkness chuffing and whistling away at 6.55pm

Through Chester le Street at 7.05pm, an hour late, centre taps still leaking, and diesel giving assistance.

Had planned to go on to How Mill near Brampton but the weather was so miserable I gave up!

    Chris

EDIT: I see now that Steve made to How Mill so glad I didn't go all that way to get the same shot. Well done Steve. Chris

Did anyone take note of the emblem on the support coach?? "HOGWARTS RAILWAYS" Having spoken to crew on one of their stops they tell me that 46115 has 3 support coaches it can use and this is one of them.

Was it a support coach or a brake? The stock based at Crewe for the summer season Flyers and CMEs had a Hogwarts emblemed brake for most of the season. It was very popular at Scarborough where many children had their photos taken alongside it.
