Sorry - should have been more specific. This section of the journey would need to be walked.

In an RVR-related development, privately-owned Maunsell Third Open No.1346 left Robertsbridge on (I think!) 26 September, bound for Rampart for overhaul and subsequent transfer to the Swanage Railway.

It is possible that pending the restoration of an authentic push-pull TO vehicle, this will be one half of the proposed Maunsell push-pull set when the driving trailer is also done.

    Thanks Mike.

What's going to happen to the first bridge 1 abutment? Will those raking concrete props be removed?

A more extensive photo update can now be found at:

    https://picasaweb.google.com/105660...uthkey=Gv1sRgCPTFn67xjL2esgE&feat=directlink#

Among those can be seen pictures of the section of embankment removed last week alongside the River Rother ready for piling to get underway following set up of the plant by the contractors today.

The temporary dams have now been removed so water is flowing again under bridge No 1 with the concrete invert complete bar a bit of tidying where it interfaces with the original concrete ground slab/farmers roadway.

    Hi Phil,

There are several ways we keep our audience up to speed. I would recommend our Facebook page as that is able to be updated in more frequently. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rother-Valley-Railway-RVR/126343580726292
