The Bulleid has indeed been moved.

About the crab still there, where are its wheels? anyone who tries restoring it looks like they will need to splash out considering it only comes with one driving axel

Another forgotten loco is the second 10 1/4 ex Surrey Border & Camberly Railway garratt loco, the very last loco built by kitsons of leeds in 1937/8. It was in Norfolk for a time where I saw it, then was sold at an auction in Goodwoods and disappeared... Would really like to know where this one is!

One I'm not sure whats happened to is S15 830. I think she moved from the Bluebell to the NYMR and not heard anything since. I guess 841 is also forgotten as most of its parts were used on 825.

830's boiler is destined for 825 once its overhaul is due. Apparently 830 was bought on the idea that it would be restored, but i dont know if its still to be restored in its own right or not

You have to take into account that the NYMR has three sets of frames 825/830 and 841 and only two boilers 830 and 841 as the Mid Hants has the boiler for 825 as part of the Urie groups pool of boilers.
I understand 841s frames are badly cracked hence why 825 became the main loco.
Time and money will tell which locos return to service .At Ropley work is progressing on all 3 S15s.

The Essex Loco soc, owners of 825/830/841 is a small band of people with (I think) one major shareholder. AFAIK, it doesn't actively seek donations or other sources of income other than from the hire of 825. The boiler from 830 is being regularly worked on with the intention of having it ready to go on 825 when required. This way, the locos earning potential can be maximised, allowing the overhaul of 830 to then progress using the funds generated.

    That's as I understand it.

You could add 46464, it seems to have slipped from the limelight a touch - the website has not been updated for a while, but like all the locos mentioned, there is usually someone plugging away looking after them and they are rarely truly forgotten.

I have always had a soft spot for 2873 as I had a barry scrapyard book as a boy and there was a big picture of her in there - I fear that I will never get to see her live though!

Incidentailly I know (well I think I read on here actually) that her boiler is now on one of the 38xx series, but in the boiler merry go round there must be a spare no.1 knocking about then - do i recall that Tyseley had a No.1 for sale last year and is this the one?

45163 is one that seems to have slipped off the radar.

Edit: Add 45293 to that as well.
