"10:58 Orpington, 11:08 Sevenoaks" Does not show a stop for two minutes silence, unusual for SD Armistice day trip. On those times it would be around Chelsfield at 11:00 hrs.

    Operational reasons?

And I would imagine a respectful silence on board the moving train will show just as much respect to those who gave their lives for us, as doing it during a stop would do. To me it's the remembering that is important. Not how it's done.

Not sure about Tornado being quiet though. It'll be climbing quite hard at that point if on time.

I wonder where they will turn round - its a bit of a schlep to use the Minster triangle, plus they'd need a diesel.
I would have thought Canterbury West would have been more convenient

It would make more sense to run ECS to Sittingbourne, berth the stock there, use Sheppey triangle to turn the engine, and return ECS to Canterbury.

Its a shame that the timings would not permit it to be there when Tangmere goes through.

When the Steam Dreams went to Faversham 2 years for Armistice day ago the whole train was turned. That train however was a West Coast job.

I see that Tangmere's trip on this day is now also routed via Nunhead, Bromley and Orpington too, less than an hour between the two.

I think probably due to a wormhole in time and space in that area of North London that also allows it to pass Wembley Central at 20.52 and arrive in Watford Junction at 20.32. It's either that or it's a typo on uksteam.info (SD website says Wembley 20.52, Harrow & Wealdstone 20.55, Watford Junction arrive 21.01, depart 21.04).

I've not received any details of the engine and stock movements for this train, but I suspect that 60163 will move overnight to/from the Southall area on the ECS workings - maybe on the back with a diesel at the front.

ECS is from Eastleigh via Southall to attach Tornado on the rear and arrives Northampton about 0630.
Diesel is left at Northampton during the day.
In the evening after arriving at Northampton the ECS runs to Rugby with the diesel following. The diesel is attached at Rugby and then returns to Eastleigh with Tornado on the rear to be detached at Southall.

Well, I thought I was going to Paddock Wood to watch a Drummond 4-4-0 race through on heavy train, followed by an original condition Bulleid Battle of Brirain pacific. A "LSWR comes to Kent" sort of a day. I wasn't even aware an L11 had been preserved, but in my books SD can do miracles, so I thought this was just another one!

But when the train came into view I could tell by it's slower speed, (wink), that it wasn't an ex LSWR loco.

It was a very gloomy and foggy day! A very quick edit and needs a bit more effort. But my first foul light shot with my Nikon D7000 and 50mm f1.8 lens combination. I think that's going to work OK.

PS.Out of respect to all here I have stopped myself changing the number to 30163.

Well, at least for now. (Shock, horror, wink).

Any updates on the return run? Hoping to see it at Kenny O after work, but it's going to be tight! Fingers crossed the Tube plays ball.

Do you think Steam Dreams would let me do a short hop from Kenny O to Watford or Milton Keynes for £10-20? They used to a couple of years ago no problem if you paid cash.
