And I see the Mods are now reviewing matters concerning at least one poster. Thank you. Hopefully they will include in that review some consideration of the use by certain modern traction types of threads about steam loco trips to post low level abuse and insults, sometimes worse than that, against against those of us who are total steam loco fans. I am unaware of any incidents of total steam loco fans going into more modern traction threads to return the abuse, insults and the underlying questioning of a specifically focussed interest. And I hope that never, ever happens.

Anyway. 46201. Did she get up Beattock and into Glasgow OK last night? Hope so. I''m sure there must be someone onboard with devices capable of updating us as to her progress.

And I'd love to have some details of that storming climb of Shap yesterday.

Does anyone know is 6201 is returning to Tyseley DH with the diesel or will it stay at Crewe for the York Yuletide trip on the 11th December?

I can't stop thinking about the sunday brunch and the roast dinner a bunch of those passengers are going to feast on the return.

 

You went on WNXX earlier this year and tried to stir-up the members on that board after a few of them had been 'over here', it was after a steam-hauled railtour needed assistance in the South West somewhere.

 

Whatever, if you say so. Seems I can't win. Everybody else is always right! Fed up with arguing. I will deal with things in my own way. Whatever happens on anther forum, true or false, (in this case rubbish) is nothing to do with Natpres.

 

There was me thinking this was a thread to discuss a great opportunity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of a historic run and enjoy the opportunity to see these great machines doing what they were designed and built to do.

Instead it descends to petty arguments and pathetic threats.

I'm sorry, I object to being accused of things. I'm entitled to defend myself. Unfortunately it happened on here & the Kentish Belle thread. Anybody else in my shoes would do the same.

 

Wanting to turn this thread around towards 6201. But as a mere sprog in the world (at only 23), I have no memory of proper steam. But put simply either have a diesel on the back as an insurance policy/ operational need or no steam on the mainline. Yes there are tours that do no have diesels on the back but more often than not those tours are in the area near to a quick rescue or traverse lines with plenty of loops or the ability to lose a train if failed.

Right then to get us back on track (if you'll pardon the pun!) 6201 just passed the WCML web cam about 5 minutes down on the slow line, though could hear it opened up after passing so could now be cleared through to Wigan.
