Incidents like this are no laughing matter. Best wishes to all at the P and B and hope that the damage can be put right asap.

No I do not currently volunteer
It wouldnt take a lot for the local youths to release some hand brakes and..........
I love the P&BR so I really really hope they arent to blame for this mess.

    Great Western,

I am heavily involved at the P&BR along with Tomparryharry. We are all in shock. All information being put out at the moment is all speculation. The "incident" is under investigation when this is complete, then and only then will the official
    report be released.
AND JUST A QUICK OFF SUBJECT MESSAGE I AM THE ONLY WOMEN DRIVER AT THE PBR AND I WAS NOT INVOLVED SO LOOSE THE SEXIST ATTITUDE!!

As posted on WNXX....On Sunday the 13th November 2011, diesel locomotive 37216 ran away from the Top Shed at Furnace Sidings and down the yard past the Bottom shed. The end result was class 31 D5627 being pushed into a box van and the Hudswell Clarke industrial diesel locomotive, all of which have derailed. Until these can be recovered and moved to a safe location for investigation the extent of damage to each of them is unknown. No persons were injured in this incident. The ORR have already been to site and made some recommendations. The railway are working with the ORR and an internal investigation is also under way. It is hoped the items can be recovered using specialist equipment later this week.

I hope the guys at the P&BR can bounce back from this incident, We all dont expect to see this happening in the preservation world however it does happen from time to time and its a miracle no one was seriously injured. After the ORR and internal investigation has taken place, and with it being nearly to the festive period....perhaps a whip-around to donate to the P&BR can be set up?

It was a joke obviously but unthinking made.I'm sure no slur was meant and Im equally sure all users on here regret that it was made given the circumstnaces.

I think we should leave this subject alone, as wnxx already have, fttb
