7822 'Foxcote Manor'

Good to hear that all is well with 7822, saw her fresh out of the works earlier on this year, hoping to see her again in April of next year at SSS3!!!

 

7822 started the first weekend of Llangollen's Santa Specials on the 26th & 27th November without any problems. Our flagship loco will again perform Santa trains on the 3rd & 4th December, with departure times at 11.00, 13.15 and 15.30

 

Remaining running dates for 7822 are 10th & 11th December, and 17th & 18th December.

Visiting Black Five 45337 will also run on the same weekends as 7822.

Black Five 44806 will haul Santa Specials during the run-up to Christmas. 3802 will run the Mince Pie trains.

 

No 6430?

 

Not down on the roster. I'm guessing it's having some work done on it before the main season starts. Can't be far away from needing a 10yearly now I wouldn't have thought.

 

7822 has now completed all of it's Santa workings at Llangollen.

Foxcote is in fact out from Wednesday until next Monday, working the mince pie specials.

3802 should have been out, but it is still receiving attention to it's valves and cylinders.

So, how about a noisy start to the new year? Foxy will be working 11, 1 and 3 o clock from llan station...

I'am are delighted to confirm the first of the running days for 7822 at Llangollen for 2012. 7822 is rostered to work trains over the weekend of 17th/18th March, 7822 will also haul the Real Ale train on the evening of the 17th.

Running dates for 7822 for April have now been confirmed.

7822 will run services from Wednesday 11th to Friday 13th April.

For Steel, Steam & Stars III, 7822 is most likely to run on both weekends, plus the Tuesday & Friday. The Tuesday of SS&S3 is West Midlands Theme day where 7822 will run services alongside Large Prairie 5199 (in BR Black) and the Super D.

As soon as the timetable is made public, I will post more details regarding 7822.

 

Hi everyone,

Apologises for the lack of updates regarding 7822. The locomotive did not do any running days in May for some unknown reason, and we've been having problems contacting the author of the 7822 website who seems to have disappeared!

Anyway, 7822 is due to run at Llangollen from Monday 25th to Thursday 28th June.

There is also a special summer land-cruise excursion to take place at Llangollen on the evening of Saturday 7th July. This excursion is only for members of the Foxcote Manor Society, not for the general public.

Had 7822 for a Clive Groome Advanced Driving Course in March. 3 days of great fun, hauling freight and a passenger rake. She was magnificent and never put a foot wrong. Starting out from Berwyn was wonderful with a terrific exhaust bark! She was easy to fire and drive. Can't recommend it enough. The Llangollen Railway is beautiful and all there very friendly. Hats off to them!

 

No I have not disappeared, since offering to run the website for 7822 at my own cost just over a year ago I have had no contact from the society. the only updates I could put on there was what I could glean from other websites myself. Despite my best efforts the website slipped out of date. Nothing was forthcoming from anybody, so I decided it was not worth my time/effort. I have been active on this forum and have been contactable by email.

Did it really not run once between the end of April and June 25th?

 

Not quite sure how long it's been out, but it has been having its annual boiler inspection. A lot of work has been carried out on the pistons aswell. Not quite sure of the details, but the pistons have been out, and I think a reborn is needed. So there is a very good reason as to why it hasn't been in traffic recently.

 

Running dates for 7822 in July are as confirmed.

Sat 7th July

7822 may also be part of the Llangollen Railway's 60's weekend on the weekend of 27th/28th July. Watch this space!

Has the engine really only got 4 steamings in July? With July being a busy month you would expect it to be used more or do Llangollen have too many locos for the services that run?

7822 is currently out for piston reborn, 5199 is out for vac cylinder repairs, Jessie is having an early 10 yearly.

I wouldn't say we have too many locos. Just a nice healthy supply compared to other railways. Over the year each will get its fair share of turns.
