Once again a very impressive brochure with a vast selection to choose from. I have to disagree about prices, while there have been a few increases a lot have remained the same and with Pathfinder's last offering being £99 for an out and back trip to Shrewsbury, RTC should be commended for having a number of trips below £80 and some of their summer trips are a lot less than that. Interesting to note a much expanded Weymouth series and a number of trips to Minehead, Good luck to them!

Usually, RTC's brochures need to be read with a hint of scepticism. Many of the tours run more-or-less as advertised, generally those that are copies or small variations of previous tours. However, a few of the more ambitious or "novel" tours will need to be revised a few times before they finally run. Anything involving Royal Scot must be open to question. Likewise the old LSW main line to Exeter. IIRC, there are some signalling enhancements expected during 2012 that will allow some spare paths for charters, etc. but it remains to be seen whether they are completed on time.

Terms and conditions look interesting - RTC have bound themselves to do "everything possible" to ensure tours run as advertised.

That's exactly the same as "best endeavours" in a property contract.

In layman's terms it means the promoter has to bust a gut and be able to demonstrate that they have done so before any exclusions are valid.

Some nice looking trips and good to see that there is another Three Bridges to Bristol although it'd be nice to have a different loco to Tangmere like Braunton. The Golden Arrow looks a good trip although its probably a bit much to hope for 70013 to be renumbered either 70004 William Shakespeare or 70014 Iron Duke to go with the Golden Arrow regalia.

The ACE trips sound good as well.

What page is that on I must have missed them. More steam from Three Bridges is great for and probably others in Sussex

Some nice tours there, may well think about booking. Not been to Weymouth.

Which way would these trains go? I was on a train that was diverted a while back (trying to recall which one) and it couldn't go from Farnham to St Denys due to a bridge problem or something. Maybe it was gauging?

Don't think I have the letter anymore but ended up diverted via Eastleigh, with 34067 I think, going to Salisbury. Might have my details wrong though.

    Memory isn't what it was!

They are listed on UKSteam but not in the brouchure. Looks good for Brighton line steam if they come off.

Sun 30-Jun THE ROYAL WESSEX (14/12)
    Three Bridges-Weymouth (WCRC) [wcrc]
    34067: Three Bridges-Fareham-Weymouth
    70013: Weymouth-Fareham-Three Bridges

I did find one in the brochure in the end and also on UK Steam. It does seem that they may be trying the Weymouth one as a replacement for the Bristol ones as I could only find one Three Bridges to Bristol in the brochure (unless there's another at Christmas).

Still thats at least 4 trips for the Brighton Line next year.

The Bath and Bristol Three Bridges to Bristol- Thursday 22nd March with 34067 Tangmere
The Royal Wessex - Saturday 30th June Three Bridges to Weymouth with 34067 Tangmere (outward) and 70013 Oliver Cromwell (return)
Cathedrals Express - Thursday 5th July Lewes to Oxford with 60163 Tornado
The Royal Wessex - (not sure what the date is) Three Bridges to Weymouth with 34067 Tangmere (outward) and 70013 Oliver Cromwell (return)

New and interesting is certainly true for the ACE as Tangmere will need to be turned at Westbury to complete its homeward leg. Timings also suggest that there is now a path out of Wloo down the SW main line to Woking. Bliss.
