Isn't the down loop at Dorridge the one that start just south of the station, runs behind plat 3 where London Midlands terminate and stretches up to Bentley Heath crossing ?, if i remember rightly there's an access gate by Bentley Heath where you could prob get a Lorry close to the north end of the loop.

Yep there it is. Martyn Hilbert's Railway Photography - 2011 - 168218 at Bentley Heath Level Crossing.
60163 could back all the way into what really is the headshunt at the north end of the loop while access is gained from the road. I guess it will just be a lorry with sacks of coal to be loaded manually. 6024 was refuelled in this way a few years ago on P1 at Stratford. Very tiring work!

By the way does anyone know if the long grass at Henley in Arden station obscuring the view from the bridge parapet at the north end has died back for the winter or been cut down? It seems to have suddenly started growing over the last year and ruined the shot.

Born and bred in Bentley Heath and know it is feasible from the crossing but likely? Interesting – we will know tomorrow.

Possibly a lorry with a hydraulic arm and grab, loading loose coal from lorry to tender. I've seen this done quite often.

Weather not looking good for tomorrow afternoon. I fear it will be raining before Tornado leaves Stratford.

I assume that was to let the 67 through at risborough which was closely following her at saunderton, thought it would of been a bit to close for comfort

Blimey, were you the only one there? - there was quite a crowd gathered at West Ruislip!

Good effort with the hand held recording, considering the conditions!

Don't know where that is, or what time that was, but looking at the empty car park don't they have commuters in Beaconsfield?

Don't forget that these southerners finished work noon on Friday 23rd and pribably don't start again until Tuesday or Wednesday 3rd/4th, whereas here up north we have worked at least three days this week..

Rather harsh I would have thought. Many commuters in the Beaconsfield area work in the capital as bankers.
They have worked very hard during the past twelve months and deserve a good break. Think of it as a bonus. <BJ>

It's usually the "office wallers" that make up most of the commuter traffic & they always have 2 weeks+ off for Christmas, nationwide. I have a friend in the retail (food) trade & although he managed to scrounge Boxing Day off, has to work all the other days including New Years Day & Bank Holiday Monday. He only had Christmas Day off because the shop was shut! The ironic thing is that these "wallers" are paid a darn sight more than the poor shop worker for doing much less.

Through Henley in Arden about 6 early this time. Must have been another speedy water stop and shunt at Stratford.
