All Westbound trains currently delayed by approx 25 minutes through Water Orton though. Not sure how 60163 got on through there.

I have several friends who have been off all this week, but its not as good as it sounds as the extra days are taken off their annual leave entitlement.

It might just be me but I have noticed that Blue and Gray Buffet/Kitchen coach this year, I assume its a repaint and not come out of storage.

Nice videos by the way considering the weather.

The Blue and Grey MAY have come from Cargo D who recently went bump, but most of their stock was MK2/3

Thats what I heard too. 60163 left Leamington Spa 2 late after stopping in the middle road for a change of inspector.

The kitchen car is 80042 that FM Rail converted to an RK a few years ago for the Blue Pullman. It then got sold to DRS for their dining train but due to a couple of problems it never got used. It then got sold to Cargo-D and repainted into blue and grey. Not sure if it ever got used by them, but when they went under it ended up with Riviera, seemingly as paymment for unpaid bills.

    Thanks Druid!

I am not sure what the good burghers of Beaconsfield were doing with their time off but there certainly weren't that many out to see Tornado pass! Half a dozen in all at the station, and another half dozen on the footbridge that Tornado comes under at the start of the video.

Just to own up, Tornado was coaled at Bentley Heath doh! Watered at Stratford, the driver did an exceptional job leaving Stratford; it didn’t slip until the train was well out of the station and slipped once and that was on damp rails (for those who don’t know SonA its up-hill leaving the station)

No:60163 seemed to be flying up Wilmcote bank this afternoon, despite the wet and miserable conditions - well done driver! It was a bit of a shame about the dazzling high intensity spot lamp on the front, it seemed far brighter than that used on any other mainline locos, is there a reason for that? Although it was pouring with rain, there was still a good crowd of people who turned out to see 'Tornado' at Wilmcote station.
Anyhow, here is a brief clip and a couple of photos of No:60163 'Tornado' storming up past Wilmcote with 'The William Shakespeare' railtour out of Stratford-on-Avon this afternoon:

It was too early for the sun to peer over the trees etc at Ickenham Green, but not too bad concidering. 60163 Tornado passing Ickenham Green. 30/12/2011 - YouTube
I used This location more out of nostalgia, as back in the mid 80s, The Shakespear Express would pass here every Sunday (ex-Marylebone), bringing locos such as 4472 Flying Scotsman, Clan Line, Sir Nigel Gresley (then No 4498), 777 Sir Lamiel, City Of Wells, among others. In those days, this field was full of locals & enthusiasts from across the country, watching the steamers went by.

Regarding the exceptionally bright head lamp, this maybe a requirement for 90mph running that is still planned for Tornado - I could be completely wrong on this of course and will happily stand corrected!

Still a nice shot tho the steam is well lit. I prefer the long platform shot, but have found like you the blockers make it impossible. If Only EVERYONE would stand behind the yellow line, then EVERYONE gets a good shot. As soon as one jumps the line everyone is screwed. Now I get in Early and get to the front. I hope you had harsh words with him.
