The Foxline book by Michael Stokes( which you have) has a number of images that can fill in pieces of the jigsaw, including the images of the interior on pages 15 and 16, taken after the shed was reroofed in 1954. The Bradford Barton book "London Midland Steam On Shed" volume 1 does feature Heaton Mersey shed, but I dont have an actual copy in front of me. It looks to be available on Amazon secondhand for under a fiver** ( plus shipping) I stress volume one, because there is a volume 2 as well.

** If you are not familiar with buying books on Amazon just Google "Amazon books", and in the Amazon search box type the following: "45562: London Midland Steam on Shed", and you will see at least two copies of volume one available at under a fiver.
Do be aware though before spending your money on the Bradford Barton book that the entry for Heaton Mersey will only occupy a couple of pages. There should be a sketch diagram of the shed track layout, but that probably doesn't add much to the diagram you have on the inside cover of the Foxline book.

However someone might know of a publication that gives you actual scale drawings of the shed buildings and coal stage. Sorry I dont.

Not sure if you mean the 'LMS Engine Sheds' by Paul Bolger? He is also author of 'An Illustrated History of The Cheshire Lines Committee [Heyday Publishing] which has a couple of photos and a track diagram, There is also 'Steam Motive Power Depots Vol 3' [Platform 5] which has one photo and an OS large scale plan

I'm sorry - I have said this before, and will no doubt say it again - if you have the books, why not research them and inform yourselves as far as you are able before googling - it shows initiative!

Of course Yorkshiremen know everything so never need to ask or will even tell you at great length what you don't want to know. Why not be kind to new people -this is not a private members club.

Alternatively why not share that information and use the collective knowledge out there - it is a discussion forum after all ...

And people suffering from personality disorders and an inability to relate to fellow citizens in a polite manner- over-represented among railway enthusiasts I'm sorry to say. Where's a moderator when you need one!

Must be a fool as I can't see how 'driver' a newcomer to the forum, would be aware of an 'in-joke' originating in another thread that is not referred to in your original post. From his perspective blithering idiot' referred to him and your behaviour has caused him to leave National Preservation. If there is unnecessary content on the Forum it is this type of bad manners, As has been said frequently elsewhere on the Forum - if you have no interest in a thread don't post to it.
