Maybe the 6201 web-master jumped the gun. The inspector on the day may have expressed satisfaction, but there's sure to be a few levels of official hoops to be jumped before the piece of paper with all the right signatures finally arrives on the owner's desk. Or maybe there's a press embargo pending an official announcement, perhaps linked to promoting one or more set of tours? Or perhaps there's been a "glitch" on the web-site, as happened to VT the other week, and the latest updates have been lost? This technology is all very well when it works...

I just looked at the updated Steam Dreams page and noticed that Lizzie is scheduled for 2 more Cathedrals Expresses. July 26 and 28 are the dates.

As most people are probably now aware, Lizzie has indeed been granted an extension to the Mainline Boiler Certificate until December 2012. Also, Vintage Trains has announced a steam excursion to Kensington Olympia on 3rd June as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

    Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant

Word has it that 6201 will be on the Chelsea Railway Bridge at around 2:30pm to whistle the start of the flotilla. Now that will be something to see!

The trip for Lizzie to the Severn Valley Railway and Worcester has been rescheduled for September 22nd.
Also 6201 shall be going London Victoria to Bath and Bristol on August 13th.
    August 20th London to Cardiff

60019 is now doing the trip from Northhampton to Winchester on July 26th instead of Lizzie.

I'm starting to wonder if she is going to be doing trips out of Crewe at all this year.

Which could cause some issues with stabling/servicing Lizzie on the SVR as was the original plan, not to mention we will be struggling for capacity to accommodate a train of railtour passengers for a round trip.

If there is a chance it looks like late July into early August, but that is speculation on my part. For Crewe that is.

According to Railway Herald Lizzie shall not be in the Crewe Pool. 60009 has been added to the Crewe Pool along with the 3 other steamers(5305,6233,70013).

I guess she shall be based in Tysley this summer other than the tours she is operating out of London. Hopefully more specials shall be announced for Vintage Trains.

An A4 has supposedly been scheduled for the Crewe pool for several years now but never actually appeared, so we are not holding our breath on this one.

Honestly, I don't think an A4 handles the Cumbrians very well compared to what 6201 and 6233 do in their home territory.

But correct me if I'm wrong, hasn't 60009 been a regular in the crewe pool for a few years before overhaul? I have seen a few videos on YT of USA coming into Scarborough.
It sounds like a brilliant lineup this year, Lets hope for no tangmere! :behindsofa:
