Got a lucky break with the light on Saturday at Shap Summit with 5043 + 6201 and you could hear the two well before they came into view.

There was some concern amongst the serious beer drinkers as we stopped at Mill Hill, the tanker was in Carlsberg livery. :faint2:

You could get into trouble there, it sounds as if you don't know the difference between a train and locomotive that pulls the train..........

OK I know train fitted better in the quote......

I thought it was quite appropriate myself, im fairly sure Brasso and Brunswick Green are Carlsbergs main ingrediants.

Good to see my camera and arm in the first coach, back window. You should therefore be immortalised on my video....

Bit overcylindered but otherwise not an unfair comparison.

Apart from the fact that the Castle predated the 5X by a decade ... and worked straight out of the box :)

Lizzie is back and blocking the view from my window - not saying thats a bad thing at all!

6201 will be fighting fit ready for her next outing on March 24th to Bristol and back up the Lickey with our pair of Panniers.

Are Vintage Trains offering any compensation to passengers on this tour due to the change of route, loss of steam mileage, failure of 6201 and the coal issues with 5043 which resulted in a diesel pilot from Warrington?

You really have it in for these people don't you. Bob Meanley has already been on here in person to give an account of the unfortunate events that reasonably required a diesel onwards from Warrington to assist. The reason tour companies rarely consider compensation is because of people like you who instantly drive at the refund angle every time something doesn't work out how you wanted it to.

Whether VT are giving "compensation" I don't know but I see no reason for them to do so. There was a storming ascent of Shap, 5043 over the S&C, up to Wilpshire tunnel, everyone got home more or less on time. Things could have gone a lot worse than that!
