I don't specifically know of this coach but I believe there was a trend for using carriages for cheap housing in some coastal regions. I know of some near Bognor Regis but they are gradually getting replaced by more conventional brick structures.

There is one on the south coast called "ENA".

Not sure exactly where it is though.

On the same topic. Reading SR Mag a few weeks ago there is a small artickle regarding the purchase of a GWR slip coach No 1091 What ashame this coach couldn't find a new home on a preserved railway. Now it looks like this coach will become another holiday home.

Also reading SR Mag I see the GWSR are having a clear out of their unwanted coaches. I wonder what will happen to them? There doesn't seem to be the interest in saving some of these coaches compared to saving locos but without coaches we can't run preserved railways.

And people are moaning about the loss of Edmondsons...

Re: the slip coach. I agree it is a great shame - if I win the lottery they'll be getting an offer they can't refuse! Not really 'news' though - it was on here months back.

Funnily enough we "found" that one at Starcross while we were having a few days in the camping coaches at Dawlish Warren. I have a feeling at the time the Starcross one was also available as a holiday let.

There's also two other converted Barry coaches on that site - all 3 are up for sale, for £150k each, mainly for the land value as the other two sites have planning permission so its likely the two less well restored ones will be heading for scrap in fairly short order
