Wetherspoons in Bewdley and Bridgnorth (Bewdley's a bit nicer) for sensible price 'know what you're getting' type meals... Captain Cod's (opposite Kidderminster station) for quality fish and chips... In terms of nice restaurants, I'd suggest trying Bewdley or Bridgnorth, but someone more local might be able to give more details :)

Caley 828 duly sorted and in service, no doubt due to some intense work at Bridgnorth! Well done.

While D3201's at Kidderminster and moved under its own power [Oct 2011], I thought only D3022 of the large shunters is operational

Well, just got back from a great day's riding on the valley. If anyone is sitting on the fence as to whether it's worth coming down over the next two days, I can promise you it is! We ran to time pretty much to time all day, apart from a 10 minute delay early in the afternoon which was caused by a slight delay in watering/running round the jinty & Caley at KR (the Caley had to be checked over to make sure it wasn't running hot- not a chance!) which was made up by 5pm.

Highlights of the day have to go to the surprise sight of the Caley coming round the corner into Highley - great work by everyone involved to get it out today- and the dusk run up Eardington behind Bittern on the teak train. Now for an early start (5am) tomorrow, don't be afraid to come down and say hi, will be in Bridgnorth MPD all day.

With the Caley now confirmed as running, how does the jinty fit into the roster? Is it to run double headed with the Caley all day as suggested on the public timetable, be given a separate roster or take the place of a resident?

I believe the Jinty does have an "alternative" roster, but I think it will run, at least for the majority of the day, double headed with the Caley tomorrow.

828 struggled from Bewdley to Kidderminster (didn't shut off until after the tunnel, when most are coasting well before the first portal due to the 10mph TSR) when it worked the ex1639BH-KR solo from Bewdley after bringing it down from Bridgnorth with 47406. Good luck for tomorrrow!

I was in Bridgnorth 'Box as 'token runner' assisting the duty Signalman today until 3, we certainly gave the frame a workout! We had the Caley on its running in running to the section signal, home signal into the yard, Caley back, home signal back, starter off, Caley out, starter back, home signal into the yard...you get the picture!

I have been told that the Caley will work it's own diagram tomorrow (TBC_1 on WTT), 47406 will replace 4566 and 4566 will become spare loco at BH along with 42968. Hope this is of some help.

A few photos from today. Bittern looked excellent on the Teaks and nice to see 828 making an appearance as well

Should I claim this to be one of the first images of a Garter Blue 'Bittern' on Victoria Bridge on the internet?
Brilliant first day (even though I was only there for the evening)
