Loco roster K&ESR / Isle of Wight

Any info from either railway about this weekend, 31st March/ 1st April would be much appreciated by your truly!

 

At the IOWSR we are not running Saturday, it's 198 0n Sunday. Test run after winter maintenance for W24 on monday then if all is OK it is in service for the rest of the week.

 

Thanks for this ..... if W24 is out to play next week, it would be most rude of me not to cross the Solent to say hello!

 

At the K&ESR, the ROCK WITH THE TOTS Stage Show is on at Northiam. Trains will be hauled by two of the following: Pannier 1638, USA 65 or Austerity 23 with diesels on the other end presumably to avoid run-rounds on what is supposed to be a tight schedule to and from Tenterden. I have not been able to find the timetable but I suspect that trains will terminate at Northiam and not go on to Bodiam.

 

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately my circumstances changed so that I was not free this weekend, but have 4 days off next weekend in lieu, so any info about the Easter weekend gratefully received!

 

Do we know whether W24 will be out to play this week after today's test run? I do hope so!

I note that both railways have galas this coming weekend. Neither website boasts a loco roster. Any info about the locos we can expect to ride behind would be much appreciated! Thanks.

 

It is the 1940s weekend at the IOWSR motive power should be Austerity 198 and W8 Freshwater. W24 which is having a boiler washout should take over from the Austerity on Tuesday.

1638 & Charwelton on K&ESR today

 

Thanks for the info. 1638 is one of my most wanted locos, I wonder whether it will be in use the rest of the week.

 

23 and Charwelton today, 1638 is out on Sunday (if not before) on the Sunday lunch pullman

 

Thanks, Brendan. I can't make Sunday, but if 1638 is out early next week, then I'll do my best to be there with a chum or three!

From Tuesday 20th W24 is in service, from Friday 23rd it is joined by W8 for 4 days. W24 remains in service until them 29th
