6201, Mid-Day Scot, 16/17 November 2006 - YouTube

Another dig into the archives for this run in 2006, 6201 on the 70th anniversary of its 1936 record breaking run, on 16th/17th November. Our first trip to Beattock, and still the best to my mind - seeing her storm round that bend in the twilight will take some beating. Following the run north on the 16th, we see her returning triumphantly to Preston the day after, Friday 17th.

Earlier today, I had the fortune of seeing 35028 Clan Line pass 70000 Britannia at Newbury Racecourse. One thing is for sure, this was mightily impressive. Have never seen this happen before, hopefully the first of many!
