    According to Railway Mag, because there is no safety case for a TGV in the UK.

    Thanks for that. There was some talk a while ago about running a TGV Duplex through to London. Maybe this came to nothing for the same reason.

    The CTRL is built to Bern plus loading guage, as are all European High speed lines. So in theory at least any TGV or ICE train can go anywhere there is high speed lines. The problem is when you come to the end of the high speed line, and rejoin classic track.
    No problem at SPI however as the dedicated line goes all the way to the station. The TVM cab signaling starts at the enterance to the tunel. Even the few signals into the station have French KVB train protection. There is no AWS or TPWS into the high speed or international platforms
