Make your mind up! You are either reliably informed or you are not, Statements like ''he is said to have'' dont sound terribly reliable?? Do they? Sounds just like something you might read in heritage railway..........
So what if he did not talk to HR for 5 years, I'm sure TYS didn't miss out on anything as a result.

Point taken. The feature writers do have to fill a lot of space every month; I am sure it is not an easy task. However, when we at VT are paying to advertise specific tours in these magazines we don't expect the same tours to be shot-down by the feature writers in the same issue! This has happened twice in the past two months in separate magazines. Understand our frustration yet?

My agenda is simple. I am paid to put bums on seats on interesting steam tours and hence create funds to continue the running and overhaul of the Tyseley locos. I can do without the conduits to the fare-paying Railway Enthusiasts saying a tour is full when it isn’t or that there are no buffet facilities on a train when quite the opposite is true.

If you can’t verify information or substantiate facts, surely it is prudent to not say anything at all versus reporting inaccurate, outdated or unsubstantiated information?

All forms of public communication are frought with inaccuracies. Newspapers regularly print retractions and clarifications. When we brought “buffet-gate” to the attention of the Editor of Heritage Railway, Mr Jones, he did everything he could to include a prominent clarification in the next issue that was going to press that day. As the Editor, I think he did everything he could.

Really looking forward to a bacon roll on the train on the morning (hopefully) and the tour in general. Been waiting to get out behind the Tyseley Panniers for some years :)

Currently heading down the M40 after a thoroughly enjoyable ramble behind two cracking locos, excellent food by Ben, and friendly staff as ever.

Anothe excellent day from VT, and arrived back at Tyseley half an hour early too!

Interesting scenery at Birmingham Intl, much comments from Virgin Station staff and passengers alike!

I was interested to see that the Panniers were refilled with "Natural Spring water" at Alrewass :)

Absolutely fantastic trip Vintage Trains - worth every penny. Those Panniers sound in fantastic mechanical condition, like two Swindon sewing machines.

It really has wet my appetite for another vintage trains run. Any plans for your calender in September - December time yet? Maybe a nice run down the Western through Oxford to Paddington? ;)

    Well done again VT. Brilliant.
