James, they're good clear videos; thanks for that. (clearer than mine earlier in the day ! but that was too long distance for my liking) Could I just mention that your excellent write up of the tour doesn't actually make clear where the daytime shots were taken ?? I might be interpreting wrongly, but thats just me ! Cheers, Pete

Was there some sort of hill there? I saw the 20 limit through Poole and though 'hmm this could get interesting' but we seemed to be still accelerating as we topped the bank :D. Unfortunately my iPhone battery was getting a bit low so I didn't have the gps working and can't report the actual speeds, but hellish impressive, as was much of the acceleration during the day.

Interesting steam blow from the front end about 1 min in? Almost looks like a steam heat connection minus its bag?

Hi Pete, thanks for your comment.

I will correct the video when home from work, but locations were Ashurst New Forest (2 locations), Shawford and Allbrook Jc

I need to edit the description anyway, as made a small error regarding the tour that needs rectifying! Thanks for your feedback!

Sheff - glad you had a good day and enjoyed the climb from Poole through Parkstone up our little bank! - she was going really well and as I said last night was one of the best climbs of last couple of years. I was standing on the footbridge just before the top of the bank and the acceleration as she went over the top of the bank was very noticeable - judging by the exhaust note sounded as if Wayne did not ease her back until well over the top and he eased down for the slack through Branksome - very impressive!! There is now an excellent video on Youtube from 1Z64 featuring the superb climb of Parkstone (about 14 mins in) here:Cathedrals Express to Swanage with 4464 Bittern 19-04-12 - YouTube

Sorry have not posted anything, got back off to tour and after a few hours was off down to Devon forthe weekend.
    Only just got back.
Managed to get the 5mph at Whitchuch lifted, it was for 6201 but ended up on our restrictions.
Just as well, we were about 5 inches from the platform, I do not think 6201 would have been anywhere near either.
Nightmare on the Swanage branch, line not been used for nearly six months.
Would not hold her feet on the rusty rails. Thankfully the Network rail MOM allowed us to reverse back and have another go. With the rust off the rails it was much better second time round. Still hard graft though.
Then no one told us there was a passenger stop at Corfe! Had fun getting away from there as well.
Thanks for all the coments regarding the climb up Parkstone, however I can not take the credit here.
Had put Rob in the hot seat from Wareham, he was driving. As he passed for driving in December its ideal we can do half & half.

    Cheers Wayne.
