Any idea what way 45305 was facing when leaving Inverness this morning? Kind of the deciding factor to if i make the 5 hour journey up to photo the return or not.

    Thanks

Both 45305 and 61994 set out chimney-first this morning. Remarkably good light light at Fodderty this morning. Slipped once on the second curve, then dug in nicely. However, must have struggled on the later part of the climb, since 30 min late leaving Garve. Slipped a couple of times at the bottom of Garve bank, then accelerated gradually up to Colliemollie(?) summit.

Am sitting in the luxurious Ledgowan Lodge hotel waiting for the return shot, in front of a log fire. Oh the joys of modern life!

One photo from today of the K4 No. 61994 "The Great Marquess" charging up to County March summit....she was plagued throughout the dy with gradually worsening late running due to a clinkering fire :

I completely agree, all of these updates and videos are appreciated greatly. Long may it continue. I should be seeing the GBV on Sunday, at Standish Jc, Sapperton, Swindon and Didcot. Hope this weather makes its mind up! I will post my video as well onto YouTube and will post a link here.

    Thanks once again

    James at SVN :)

Must say that being on the platform and near to Cromwell when it departed, it was very loud and very steamy. Nice atmosphere but not so good for videos and pics. My ears look a while to recover.

Not to your tastes perhaps Ralph and he won't sell it on DVD, but I still enjoy them.

Im quite sure lots of peoples first attempts at filming a passing loco cannot benefit from all the right equipment.

Personally i enjoyed it, and hope the poster goes on to catch more, ever better clips..
