    Agreed. I was able to visit it once with a friend (not into railways) and we had a lovely walk around the gardens followed by a ride on the train.

    I wonder what will happen to the gardens as well as the railway. It's a big attraction in the New Forest and worth visiting even without the railway. I went there last August and, if you haven't seen them, there are some pictures of the railway in my Flickr site :
