This may call for a release of the padlocks on my wallet...

We’ve been so busy getting ready for Scotland that I forgot to start a thread for this!

(Thanks to campainr for taking the time!)

So this breaks down into 3 trips on one day. The first is a double-headed pannier run from Tyseley to Melton and back with a coach-connection to the Stapleford Miniature Railway.

Then we have two separate trips over the Harringworth Viaduct and back – each with top-and-tail Panniers. I could guess which Pannier will be at each end – I’ve got a 50/50 chance of getting it right!

Various options available on the train; Standard, Club Class and Dining.

Should be fun. Something a little different I hope!

Sold! Cracking day Ben, What about a 'whole day special fare?' I don't really want to spend time looking round Melton, seeing as I live there! My wife thinks I am mad, driving from Melton to Tyseley to get the train back to Melton and then return to Tyseley to drive home!

That would be great, cheers Ben! Booked on the 'Railfest' trip today as a special treat too! Will be a good 3 months ahead, Railfest behind 5043, Shakespeare behind 6201 and then this!

If we were to do one of the viaduct shuttles, how long would you anticipate we'd have in Melton Mowbray before the return to Tyseley?

Just wondering as not sure whether its worth the extra journey or go Stapleford.

What arrival time will you be asking for back at Tyseley ?

I am thinking of doing this as well as the Shakespeare (B/C trains )the day before, as long as the return time being asked for is not too late (so I can drive home rather than a second nights hotel accomodation).
