    Hi Everyone

I have organised a presentation about the Ashover Light Railway by Richard Booth. It will be on the 7th June at 7.00pm, and will be a short illustrated history and future of the line. It will be held in the Rectory Rooms, Church Lane, Morton, Derbyshire (DE55 6GU), and refreshments will be provided. Everyone is welcome. There is more infrmation on the parish website, and a poster for the event here.

If you want more information feel free to send me a PM.

    Thanks

Society chairman no less. His presentations at the AGM's are very captivating so it should be good and those who attend should enjoy it very much.

Thanks for pointing out that the Chairman will be presenting it. I first saw him present it at a Peak Rail meeting, so organised one within the village. Everyone is still welcome to attend.

I would also like to inform you that the Treasurer will be there as well, selling ALRS merchandise.

    Regards

    Hi there

Just a reminder that its tomorrow night. It would be nice to see some of you there.

Meanwhile, I'm off to railfest tomorrow as well, but I have had my strict order to be back in time.

    Cheers

It was a great night last night, despite the weather, and 65 people came, with £130 being split between the Ashover Light Railway Society and Holy Cross Church, Morton. Richard gave a faultless presentation and Trevor was in attendence with ALRS merchandise. The refreshments were also lovely so I would like to thank everyone who helped with that.

    Regards

    Hi Chris

From the information I gained at the presentation, not too bad. They have several areas which could be used for a short line with visitors centre, and theres also the prospect of a new open cast, which could be used to their advantage. They also have several rolling stock items, a couple of diesels and a few wagons, but the Golden Valley Light Railway (Midland Railway Centre) are currently restoring it to its former glory.

I got the feeling that they are only really short of funds, as they have pleanty of doors open for them.

I hope to become a member in the near future, as I think it could be an exciting year or two to come. If you want any more information there are several contacts on the ALRS website, plus a bit more info I may have missed out.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards

There was a problem with the server when I looked at around midday. I did inform the webmaster, and he said the web host had e-mailed him, but it seems all is sorted now.

    Thanks
