    There's also Class 47 railtour running to Tyseley and Stratford on the Saturday from Berwick, possibly with 47854 and 47270.

    Tyseley 11:28 - 11:31
    then via Dorridge to
    Stratford 12:05

    then returns
    Stratford 16:13
    Henley 16:24
    Tyseley 16:42 - 16:45 and then back to Berwick.

    yes it was very crowded - almost too crowded. It is a pity it couldnt be combined with an open day at the next door depot to allow a little more space. Still it was good to see lots of members of the general public there as well as rail enthusiasts.

    I can see why HDR photography hasn't really caught on. I need sunglasses on to look at them. The B&W images are far better.

    Depends how you edit them... for overcast days, HDRs produce much better results, I personally prefer the vibrant, colourful look, others like the 'normal' looking ones.

    These are excellent events that appear to be getting more and more popular every time. Whether that's down to the Groupon deal that was set up that offered discounted entry perhaps only Ben Mason can advise us but overall given the numbers on Saturday I hope it turned a profit for Tyseley.

    It was also interesting to note that a railtour from Berwick on Tweed to Stratford upon Avon also stopped at Tyseley to allow passengers to visit the Open day. Is this something other railtour operators may consider for future events at Tyseley - drop the husbands off at Tyseley and then the wives can carry on for a day out in Stratford. (or vice versa - must be PC here!)

    My only gripe though was the somewhat limited viewing potential for the shuttle and cavalcade. You'll see what I mean with this shot....

    It was quite a bit less crowded on the sunday, with maybe two "ranks" of people trying to view the cavalcade.

    I'm quite a fan of HDR shots especially when there is weathering or rust detail, it really brings out the age!
