It did indeed. The 03 was out too - albeit not hauling anything. The same 5 bashers were window hanging all day long - Bit of a micro diesel gala I guess!
I assume 4277 (the only operational steam loco at the moment) was having a washout?

4277 was stopped for a washout, brick arch replacement and a few other niggling jobs. She will now be in service untill 7827 is passed fit for service. Its been a very long and hard winter, but all being well she should be back in service inside 2 weeks.

The DSR Facebook page is confirming that Kinlet Hall is staying on after the heritage festival for the summer! Double heading with 7827 - bring it on!

    Folks,

couple of updates for you. 7827 will be returning to service next week. She has her official boiler exam Monday afternoon and will be out just around Churston. All being well she will double head the 12:15 and 14:15 trains on Tuesday with 4277. She should then be running from Wednesday on her own. Its been a painstaking 9 months since the boiler was removed for repairs, but we hope you all enjoy her running again.

As stated in our Heritage Festival thread, 4936 Kinlet Hall will be arriving late May and will be working over the Heritage Festival and during the summer.

Deatils of the Heritage festival can be found here. Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat Company | Day Out in Devon

You can also find out more information about our "Footplate experience" ticket which is due to start soon. More details to follow.

Morning All!. Absolutely gutted that I wont be able to get down for the heritage weekend. That said, i hope everyone that does get there has a great day(s) out and that the railway gets a few more new "return visitors".

Kelvin - I had a look at your latest video on youtube of 4277 - great stuff mate!

Looking forward to my first trip down to the South West probably early July which co-insides with my relocation to Exeter (working in Taunton). The Mrs has a job lined up in one of the Painton Banks, so I have of course volunteered to pick her up every saturday ...........she saw through it straight away and said "the railway can survive without you..." I retorted with "I'm not sure I can without it" :)

Excellent day on the Dartmouth Steam Railway. We were mega busy, we had to put 10 coaches on for the first train and then kept them on all day! Good to see the Manor out and about. Don't forget the Heritage Festival coming up, this Friday until Sunday.

I had a fantastic day on the DSR on Saturday for the Heritage Festival. I uploaded the video onto YouTube, and the link is here: The Dartmouth Steam Railway Heritage Festival 2012 - YouTube

I thought 4936 sounded excellent, and looked wonderful with Torbay Express headboard and reporting headcode. Well done to all involved, no doubt I will be back by the end of the summer :)

Do both 7827 & 4936 face Kingswear still? Anybody know which diagram they will be on Thursday, eg what loco is working the 1030 and the 1115? I get the impression the railway does rover tickets now each day, is this correct and how much for an adult if so?
