Sounded like an unscheduled stop at or between Charlbury and/or Ascot-under-Wychwood.

Only 10 coaches - should be a good run up Sapperton on the return.

Passed Adlestrop at 12.19, so a few minutes down. The preceding HST passed about 5 minutes earlier, possibly it had caught up with that?

The preceding HST was 10 mins late and 70013 was held just short of Moreton In Marsh, also heard a crossing near Honeybourne was causing minor delays too.

Anyway, 70013 opening up through Moreton in Marsh Station: Moreton In Marsh | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Cheers to SteamAge for the location suggestion, quite a pleasing steam age shot.

First time seeing No:70013 in the flesh, so to speak, today. She looked and sounded great flying past Fladbury, near Pershore, around lunchtime today:

Massive 'thank you' to all who made the railtour happen, especially 'Oliver Cromwell's support crew; great work - someone has to do it. As always, comments and feedback on the video are most welcome via this thread, YouTube or PM.
    Enjoy!

On time through Twyford on up slow but going well.

I suspect Twyford is seeing more mainline steam trains than since the 60's.

Barely a week goes by without a mainline train or light engine movement.

I really feel for those parts of the UK where steam on the mainline is but a memory at worse or very rare at best.

    Back to Berkshire. Steam Heaven!

Agreed Hatherton, getting quite a usual trip to the station nowadays !! Short clip of return through Twyford. Was set up for fast line; rapif move when she was in sight, ended up with all the sundry rubbish in front of camera . Oh well, she still looked good. And one day, we shall have some light ! 70013 Oliver Cromwell 7 July 2012 Cotswold Venturer - YouTube

My footage of her run, seen at Moreton-in-Marsh, Sapperton and Bourton. First time for a while I've filmed at Sapperton and it's actually been dry ;)

BillR & KristianGWR - Lovely stuff!

Bill - I'm hearing a bit of distortion on the sound track, when the train is in the middle distance. If it's not present on the original, then it would be worth outputting the sound at just a slightly lower level. I have a similar problem sometimes, and so set my output level to -3dB which stops the audio compression software clipping the peaks. If it's on the original, then the only way around it is to hire a sound man next time! ;-)

Kristian - what a stroke of luck at M-in-M! Mind you, the Bobby was rather tardy putting the outer home back.

Eggbert - you have a good eye for composition, but the handling of the camera is letting you down at the moment. The Didcot platform shots are too wobbly, especially when zoomed in. My advice is always use a tripod. At Jackdaw Bridge, I'd have edited out the rather wild pan and zoom-in. You can leave the sound-track uncut under the edited picture for continuity, or use a quick cross-fade. The comparison with Bill's static shot from your side of the bridge is telling. If you had something similar, then repositioned the carmera quickly, and edited out the move, you'd have had a really nice, stable video. I try to keep in mind that the viewer should not be aware of what the camera is doing. There should be no distractions from the subject of the film. Better to cut out the blemishes, even if that means leaving half the footage behind.
