At least this line is having more luck than the M4 in London, closed between junc's 1-3 due to bridge cracks. Assume this is the Hammersmith Flyover.

If Clan Line takes the train to Weymouth it will not be able to turn. The loco is watered
and serviced at Yeovil Jct and then later continues tender first to Weymouth. <BJ>

While I know that many passengers don't care what colour their train is, there are very many who do (especially on a commemorative run such as today's); so what a shame that, for this 45th anniversary run, a rake of green coaches couldn't be provided. The rake used includes that ridiculous blue and cream mk2 (a 'non-livery'), which, when mixed with the brown and cream and maroon examples, looks a mess. I bet Marcus Robertson would much have preferred to run in green today!

Had a few minutes of concern at Wimbledon when, following the passage of a preceding electric, the down fast starter duly went to red and then yellow, but then back to red immediately, and stayed like that for several minutes. I feared signal failure, but, about two minutes before 'Clan Line' appeared (about 8 minutes late already), it cleared to green. No conflicting moves took place while the signal was at red, so I still don't know what that was about.

Here we go again...... DBS don't have a green rake until the SD set arrives next, presuming it will be green of course???

DBS have always had a bit of a mix and match set of coaches for the last few years baring the Torbay and Royal Scot set's so it will be mix and match for the foreseeable unless someone puts some serious money up for repainting or DBS themselves decide to have a repaint of their charter stock. It was only West Coast who had the green train and as mentioned a few times over the last few weeks, Steam Dreams don't use West Coast anymore.

Anyway, great to see Clan Line running as planned today, hope all is going well thus far and looking forward to seeing some good video's and pics, along with some onboard reviews as well!

We arrived 30 minutes late approx at Weymouth. We passed Clan Line shortly after leaving Pen Mill, it had already been serviced.

We stopped outwood before Wimbledon, since tail light had been left on.

For the Torbays though they have recently turned out a great rake of Choc & Cream Mk1s - such a shame that no WR loco can work it!!

Shoddy127 - many thanks for the info. re. green stock. Sorry to make you repeat it - I haven't been reading enough posts lately!

Paul42 - regarding the stop before Wimbledon - interesting. I wonder if the red signal at Wimbledon was in order to stop the train to have the light removed? As it cleared to green well before 'Clan Line' appeared, the light must have been removed somewhere around Clapham Junction/Earlsfield. But, with no signalmen en route to check these things these days, who instructed the stop? Did the crew suddenly realise and take it on themselves to stop and report, or did a passing driver notify control? Unlike other steam locos, Clan Line's built-in electric lighting means that crews don't have to mount a headlamp at each reversal, so it must be easier to miss the tail-light removal operation. Is 35028 the only traction passed to run on the network without a high-intensity headlight these days (cue a deluge of others!)?

Just rejoined the train, but managed to be in the vacinity of steam and diesel drivers as they passed their instructions. Steam driver said along the lines of "Provide assistance if it drops under 10mph, lets see if we can do it on our own." Fingers crossed!
