I notice that the UK steam website seems to be showing that this is no longer starting at Cambridge, but doesn't give alternative details and there doesn't appear to be anything on the Steam Dreams website apart from blank timings for this tour. I do hope my first ride behind Clan line isn't about to go wrong.

Does anyone know what is happening ?

We were told on Mondays trip either 60019 or Diesel Cambridge to London and return, and Clan Line London - Canterbury and return.Steam Dreams website states 35028 from London on the booking page, and has done so since Tuesday

Ah Yes, I can see it now, thank you................... "The form of traction between Cambridge and London will be confirmed shortly"

The UK steam entry had me worrying that the tour was going to go up to London on another line and that we couldn't start from Cambridge, Stortford, Harlow etc area. Thats something of a relief, as I am hoping to be able to walk to the station.

So has anyone got their tickets yet ? Having travelled with SD on numerous occasions I can't recall it getting quite so close to the day and them not yet having arrived by email ?

Times are now up on the Steam Dreams website. Anyone travelling from Cambridge will not be getting back until midnight. Thats a pretty long day.

Clan Line is only doing Battersea loop to Canterbury and back to Batersea Loop. This was a present for my 21st so am slightly down about lack of steam. Oh well. Could be worse :)

Steam mileage effectively halved and a 'next day' return. Not quite the advertised product and not what the invitation to treat, offer and acceptance was based upon.

No wonder bookings are falling when, no matter who the operator is or what the advertised motive power you just cannot rely on getting what you think you have paid for!

All that Life has done to me hasn't taken my humour away.

Although the blo.dy weather might today if the promised heavy and prolonged showers turn up when 35028 passes where I hope to photograph her.

Anyway, getting right back on topic I do hope to get out to see Clan Line, and will report back here as to how she's running. Strange schedule in places. 6 minutes from departing Bromley to passing Orpington will take some doing. And up from Rochester to Bromley tonight is not bad at all. Indeed if I wasn't feeling a bit rough today I'd go to Bromley and beg to be sold a ticket to Canterbury and back.

    Cheers,

    Bryan

Look forward to reading your report. It's sunny here in Weston-super-Mare so hopefully things will improve in Kent.

Just about to head out for some picture taking - reasonable light at the moment, so I'm expecting the monsoon season to start in about 15 minutes

Why thank you kindly Ralph! You Northern types do serve a useful purpose from time to time, (wink). Talking of Serving did I mention my latest dream about a Bavarian Serv............ oops. Perhaps not.

    Right. Get back on Topic.

After July 9th it was back to Southern reality today. Went to watch 35028 storming through Paddock Wood at 75mph, but it was in amongst a busy day for traffic on that line today. Just opening up from a check from the elongated electric box thing that had not long left. I made it two early, (Clan Line, not the emu), but I was always a bit behind the times.

Photos just the same despite the check. Blurred, dark and out of focus. All that's missing from the good old, days is a scratch or two added by Kodak or Agfa! Aah, those were the days.

PS. Anyone know who the crew are today.

Sure the blurred, dark and out of focus is not your eyes, age does tend to do that you know...

Anyway we now seem to have a bonanza up here with the likelihood of a proper green loco working 3 days out of four. And before you say anything, I mean 46233 of course..
OK now you can get back on topic, anything slightly off, including sarky replies about 46233, will be dealt with.:mod:
