It appears that whoever saw it was wrong. I only received a message - did not see it myself ! You cannot get the staff these days!! Cheers.

 

Certainly did, 60163 was leading from Wembley on Sunday evening - not sure of the exact route it took to Newcastle but it was certainly a fair few miles. Would have been nice to get a photo of it but not possible to do so unfortunately

PS: Class 67s make quite a racket when supplying ETH, think they are in the equivalent of something like notch 4 when doing so which could easily give the impression that it was actually powering the train.

 

Just goes to prove it is best not to rely on un-substaintiated and un-corroborated reports when posting on a public forum.
