34007 had a minor big end lubrication problem. 45379 on pay and play and 850 today with the DEMU on the other passenger diagram. 34007 back for weekend, and probably for Thurs.

Sorry James- not likely I'll be going anywhere today after all, but it looks like 34007 will be in action.

No worries John, considering heading up on Sunday instead - weather looks better and the freight train is out.

Wrong. Don't bother with rumours Chris, just ask next time you see me.

We've renewed the tender train pipe, which couldn't be done at Eastleigh during the time spent on a pit, and manufactured and are fitting the rocking grate using BR Standard 4 Components. There is a lot more work to manufacturing and fitting this to an engine that never had one than people realise. T

The new rear firebars didn't arrive in time for the steam test at Eastleigh so we borrowed the fixed bars from our friends at ERPS, which have now been returned.

Providing we have a good day tomorrow we are still on course for our scheduled running in period.

Today Sunday was a day that the Goods was out with 45379 at the head . The new grab on the single plank looked great, Its nice to be able to ring the changes with this train each time it goes out.

I understand 506's frames will need a bit more work than initially expected to repair/replace sections behind the cylinders...any update on a projected finish date?
