EHLR ex FFestiniog Alistair, goes on loan to Bursledon Light Railway.

The Hayling Seaside Railway's (aka the East Hayling Light Railway) 1940 built Ruston Hornsby "Alistair" is to spend a year’s loan to the Hampshire Narrow Gauge Railway Trust's, Bursledon Light Railway. "Alistair" which was used on the FFestiniog Railway's deviation line, sold to the Gartell Light Railway before arriving on Hayling, will be used on passenger trains on the Bursledon Light Railway at Bursledon Brickworks, after a few repairs to the engine.

We'll it asks me to log in - sadly I'm increasingly finding Farcebook a hindrance rather than a good tool to use for publicity (the band I'm in uses it) the constant need to log in and the convoluted structure puts people off finding you and your 'product' so we use it less and less. If you want to get your photos seen put them up where all can see them not just on f'book

I think Fergus has a valid point, I also find facebook has to be tightly moderated as it also attracts the morons of this world too - the Exporail facebook site (the Canadian museum who owns 60010 "Dominion of Canada") was defaced by some UK enthusiasts last week with some very rude and offensive comments when they posted images of the A4 being prepared for transit to the UK. Encouraged by an off-hand comment from a certain UK railway periodical they have blasted them with comments suggesting the museum (run by volunteers with limited resources) can't look after their engine and it must remain in the UK after the loan to the NRM!

I've just checked the link, by logging out of my Facebook account and clicking the above link. While yes, one of the first things you see is Facebook asking you to join or log in. When you scroll down, you can see all posts on the page and the photos of Alistair being loaded is the first post that comes up (as I write this). Of course by clicking on the photos, you can see all 7 of them without logging in! As for putting the photos elsewhere, they are not my photos, nor is it my post on Facebook.

Anyway, please can we not let this thread degenerate in to slagging off Facebook, and leave it for those people who are interested in Alistair and where to see it!
