Even with my Gold shareholders premier passport I could never never be tempted to attend any event like this (on any line). My concern was that the event doesn't get hi jacked by the idoits the went to the other 2 events.

I believe the Class 117s are at Rowsley for storage purposes but am open to confirmation on that. It would be good to see them used.

    Hi Guys
I've just about merged all Peak Rail stock back into the search facility. I'm having trouble with the description of the 2 Car Austrian Ferry Vans as no one seems to have managed to get a photo of it. I believe its usually sheeted. I've got build details/origin etc but I don't know what it looks like! Ventilated, cupboard/sliding door(s), plank/ply, 4w/bogie etc.
Also there is a 5pl flatbed, ex MRC possibly as a source of spares?
    Peak Rail - Bestieboy's Photos
Has anyone been able to determine the origin/diagram of this before being sold to RNAD as their no. 87.
As always any help much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Steve

I'l get a pic when next down

Johns the man whose restoring them so has far more knowledge of them than anyone else

    They're sliding doors two
On each side with two swing doors also on both ends colours are delacher and cos livery blue with white letters
The wheel arrangement is as far as I recall two single axles. Think they're about ten planks high but il check with John on that. They used to take sliding trolleys etc which John has one in store to go with the Waggon when restored

Il ask him next time I see him boss

    S&T

the mechanical frame locking has been started by Ian and myself on friday, more of a get back into it frame of mind as its been a while since we last did this, though by days end wed got the first two tappets started out the first batch of 6,starting from one end of the frame and working along as we go, i also managed to pick up some tools from the Astle park traction engine rally to assist in the job on the saturday so much happiness there.

elsewhere Mr Bridoon snr and younger continue the hard work on repainting shunters and piping work, also chatted with the HST lads for a while who were busy down there shed with restoration too, eventually i will get back to Rowsley for long enoughto be able to write a proper update but at present the work for the department is all up Riverside.

The lineside guys have been extremely busy cutting and keeping the grass down, our next week of work will be in two weeks time with around 4 days solid work on the locking

According to Railway Magazine it is a train on 21 October to celebrate the retirement of railwayman Alan Spencer with Class 31 and Class 60 haulage - probably won't need the turntable then :)

I have to question your thinking here
If the fly splatterd end is on the north end of the train as it approaches Rowsley then turning the loco would put the fly splatterd end facing south for the return run towards Matlock.

I hear the October 21st charter is postponed until the new year. Some good news though, The Peak Forester with 70013 is being run again on Sunday 24 March 2013.

    Weekly update

The signalling engineers have managed to spend four days this week working on Riversides mechanical interlocking on the lever frame. With about four fifths completed now. Also being tackled is painting some general building work and snagging works

The HST have installed nice new signs upon the Brightmore display building at Rowsley. Very nice looking and eye catching

Paul is continuing with work upon The metal clad Lms coach at Rowsley

Today was also the date of the 2nd incoming charter to the railway this year from the Branchline Society charter encompassing Peak Rail,as well as the Ecclesbourne and Midland railways also. Which ran over the connection to Matlock
