Looking at downsizing my railwayana collection and was wondering if anyone has an idea what my
enamel CAMBRIDGE HEATH station sign might be worth. See link to photo below.

Cambridge Heath | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

It measures 12 foot long by 18 inches high and 1 inch deep due to its flanged edges. It is in deep blue Eastern Region colours and I guess is from the 1950s.
    Many thanks
    Skiphunter.

Plus side - eastern region - name

Down side - size - and how!

You have some interesting stuff there

Yes, in this case size does matter!! You should see my CANADA DOCK GOODS DEPOT sign, thats 18ft long but is in 2 pieces. They do look good in the garden I have to say.

A chap in my village has offered £200 for the Cambridge Heath sign. I know they are large but surely they must be rarer than totems and you get so much more for your money!!!

That doesn't equate to higher prices I'm afraid - the capacity to sit above a mantlepiece does!

I think I deserve a slice of that prize winning cake for the advice!

The value of a running in board is rarely dictated by rarity but by the fact that not so many people have the room to display it as opposed to a totem. For any station, totems invariably attract higher prices than running in boards. P.M. me as I know somebody who may be interested or know someone who is.

Looking at your photos I see you were asking if any one knew what railway company the shield shape 3/4 milepost is.

    Its Great Northern
