Apologies if there is a thread already for this run, but I couldn't see one.

Is anyone able to confirm which way this weeks CME is running? UK Steam says Shap, then S&C on the overview, but S&C then Shap on the times. Suspect the latter will be the correct info?

That's my assumption too. I think this routing applies to the entire series of trains. Something to do with paths over Shap?

It does seem that unless it's a Crewe - Carlisle - Crewe with say PMR, all other Carlisle runs that do S&C one way and Shap the other do now go out via S&C and back over Shap. The return invariably in the 16.11 departure. This slot is long enough to allow a black 5 driven briskly to get to Carnforth just before the followings service gets too close. But as the Moorlander showed this last Monday, leave Carlisle much more that 10 minutes down and you get looped twice.

January 26th 2013, 44871 and 45407 are doing Shap Northbound and S&C return.
The rest though do seem to be going backwards.

What a great shame, such a magnificent engine and so rarely fails to complete a run.

There does appear to be an epidemic recently, lets hope it ends soon and trains run as booked.

    Not a good summer...

Did we not have a series of lubrication issues a few years back. Does anyone remember if anything was found or if it was just bad luck?

A quick clip of 46233 arriving into Hellifield station, not the best (we were also welcomed by a rather small cloud...)

Oops! We only have to teach how to use a spell checker ;)

And I think you'll find 'you're' fits a bit better in your sentence...

Can't be too bad, 46233 + coach cantered up Giggleswick Bank 12.00 at (estimated) 30 mph or so, not crawling along or diesel piloted.
WCRC Class 47 hauled main train passed us at Stainforth about 13.15, not bad turn round as we saw it decending Giggleswick Bank at about 12.45.
