Not being well up on identifying EMUs but a unit based mail train passed the Moorlander every Monday heading south, whilst we were in the Carnforth loop watering/changing locos.... usually about 17.50.

There are still diagrams using the 325s, the one you describe could be the 16:17 Shieldmuir-Warrington Dallam. There are also Willesden-Shieldmuir and return diagrams.

1M44 Shieldmuir to Warrington RMT and a very nice photo it makes too if the sun is out

Didn't see it this year unfortunately as the trip I was on was late leaving Carlisle and 1M44 passed us in Eden valley loop (I think), but got a bonus shot of a class 70 and 66 on 6K27 instead, always worth waiting at the window with a camera on these trips.

Those are some awesome shots! With me living on the ECML, I don't get to see anything like this.

However, if I was DBS, I would take those 325s through the trainwash at Wembley Traincare before their next round.

Thanks, unfortunately if they ever do get round to running mail trains regularly on the ECML they are likely to be overnight if the current paths in "the system" are anything to go by.

Can't do that - costs money to go in there and use the facilities!
