Nice to see that was in the under growth at Yaxham, has any thing else turned up? The Kerr Stuart looks complete, keep the lads quite for a few weeks.

Hope you have a great time!

Blimey! If the tin worms weren't holding hands it would fall apart!

Alas I'm tied up with a big green engine in Peterborough that weekend.... and it's Quarry Power as well.... there just aren't enough weekends in the year!

    Just a quick update.

We are pleased to say that, courtesy of our friends at the West Lancs Light Railway, on the 15th of Sept our home fleet will be joined by the recently returned to steam , Joffre No. 2405 of 1915.

It will be a rare oppurtunity to compare 2 Joffres "before and after" !

Double -doh.... that's so not fair!

(Henry, I know 1643 is 'GP39' now, but for the purposes of the 'Quarry-Power' line-up she's 'Bronllwyd' - that's why I added the )

Are stock lists on sale at the event?

    Thanks,

The biggest problem with Statfold is that you can't keep up with an upto date stock list ,it changes on a weekly bases

It is all part of the enjoyment, in my opinion... walking around a corner and being suprised by an interesting and unadvertised addition, such as with "Marchlyn" last year.

I personally don't go out of my way to work out stock lists before I go to preserved railways, if I go to a site with pre-conceptions of what I might see and don't see it I might be disappointed, far more fun to "go with the flow", chill out and enjoy what I see when I see it.

I fully agreed with SBR keeping "Marchlyn" underwraps untill the open day, its arrival was a wounderful suprise to those present, yet if they had advertised it and it failed to appear people would be quietly disappointed (I would hope that nobody would actually complain about the SBR, as after all your are a guest at a private railway that raises money for (non-railway) charities and it is a privalage to be there).

    Just a quick update.

We will have 14 railway locos in steam on the day, working a fairly intensive service together with freight trains.

Paddy, the vertical boiler loco from Amerton will be working the "Garden".

As has become tradition on our September Day, there will be a wide selection of vintage road vehicles too, with at least 13 road locos in steam.

The Grain Store building will be open all day where all the "static" exhibits (including some ex-Canadian ones!) are on display around the recently installed turntable , which has now had several more sidings added to it.

All we need now is good weather!!
