    Isn't 5025 very poorly in the boiler department though?

    I think most of the work needed on the engine will be required on the boiler but, as ever, until it's opened up I doubt the true state of the repairs needed are known. Certainly 46512's boiler was in much better condition compared to what we thought it was once LNWR Crewe got stuck into it.

    5025 is one engine I would LOVE to see in steam and running to Grantown. The Strathspey has really turned a corner motive power wise, the 5 would be the icing on the cake.

    The overhaul on 5025 seems to be underway according to the Watkinson Trust site.

    A bit off topic here but what's happened to the railway's website? It used to be quite user friendly and informative but I've just logged on and it's had a really bad redesign with very little information on anything and horrible usability...
