We are planning on using 4965 for the majority of the Shakespeare's.

5043 is rostered for 19th Aug (after running to Llandudno Jctn on Saturday)

5043 will make another appearance later on in the year - not sure if it will be 2nd or 9th September. As soon as I know for sure........

Nice shot despite the lack of sunshine. has a certain moody quality and a sort of 1930's look about it. It would make a great subject for a jigsaw puzzle.

Great photo. And I know the feeling!
No:4965 looked in fine fettle yesterday running through Wilmcote with the last run out of Stratford, captured in high definition (of course, cue the dog barking, the children crying etc, etc!): (HD) Shakespeare Express 29/07/12 with No:4965 at Wilmcote - YouTube
Thanks must be extended to all those who make these trains happen every Sunday through the summer, its great having regular mainline steam virtually on the doorstep.

5043 is rostered for this weekend's Shakespeare (19th August)

We have a few seats available for Breakfast, but Lunch and High Tea are sold out in dining.

We have limited seats on trains A and D in Standard, but only pay-on-the-day for B&C.

This has to be one of the cheepest ways to experience 75mph steam on the mainline.

    See you Sunday!

The Earl joining the Mainline at Hatton on the teatime run today in glorious weather: Hatton North Junction | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

The path up to this spot really is becoming a Jungle now, would I be arrested if I aquired a Machete as part of my kit ? ;)

The Chiltern only raced past Hatton as the Earl was crawling up to the peg off the branch, and a fairly slow getaway on yellows followed to try and create some space.

There was probably more spacing than it seemed at Widney David, the Chiltern went through on greens and as soon as it went out of sight the lights went to single yellow then straight away to doubles. No sign of any exhaust all along the straight towards Widney so it only seemed about 3 - 4 minutes spacing then 5043 was followed by a Voyager on double yellows also. Still good to see the Earl where it belongs.

Thanks to all at VT for a cracking day out on the Shakey today. We were on the first train out of Snow Hill and the last one back and had an excellent time throughout. The Earl impresses me more and more every time I ride behind it, what a tool! It was never stretched today yet the sprint from Hatton North Junc to Tyseley was breathtaking. A credit to you all, it runs like a sewing machine! I wish we could keep the 28' that clean!

Only had a couple of hours and very last minute, so shot off to see the Earl at Lapworth with train 'B'. Just crusing
    along very nicely keeping time.
