Good day today. Despite the bad start to todays weather we had a good flow of passengers today. Two 4-6-0's tinning is good for us too. Really feels like the line is truly recreating a feel of the past. Although, a heavy freight tank on a passenger working on the line is kosher too. Forget where i read that now though.

I was told this morning by one of the staff that Kinlet would be running next week on the blue timetable & it was being brought out of the shed today.
So that confirms what Stu in Torbay posted yesterday.
On returning to Paignton this afternoon after doing the Round Robin Kinlet was in the sunshine by the cinema.
I go home on Monday so will not see running this time, But been behind Lydham Manor a couple of times on this visit & that makes up for it.
I also see that Kinlet is also due to be at the WSR Autumn gala begining of next month, Wonder if it will go by road from Churston or by rail, I know it can't get to Paignton due to gauging issues, but it might not have that problem going the other way to Taunton !

Should be 7827. 4936 is planned to do this tues until the following Monday, then the manor should continue as 42 is then due a washout but as always ...subject to availability!

According to a collection of Eric Treacy photographs I picked up at Whitrope a couple of weeks ago, those in charge of the GN suburban lines out of the Cross in the 50s were convinced that the only possible emergency substitute for the N2s would be the 42XX tanks. Shame they never got the chance to test that theory, although no doubt there would have been gauging issues.

One thing for sure you won't get a ride behind this 42xx it's the one whose name (shudder ) begins with G. Any ideas what the traction will be from Sept 21st. for a week?

It might be the manor or it may be HERCULES! Oh sorry, the 42.

Had a footplate ride on 4936 today. Superb! Great move on the DSR's part introducing those after many years of the footplate being no go for Joe public :clap2:

Think its looks like 4277 as from tomorrow as it was stood in paignton headshunt lit earlier while 7827 was at the back of paignton shed behind some mk1s, heard a train about an hour after the service finished, presumably 4936 going up to churston now its stints over.

Yes, that was 4936. Just caught sight of her passing in the drizzle - but too quick to grab camera. I took this video of one of her last runs: Kinlet Hall - YouTube
Anyone know when the road move is planned (unless it's already happened?)

From what I was told the other day it will be a rail move not road, the loco working light engine from the DSRB to WSR in due course.

I see. I assumed she steamed back to Churston for disposal/storing there as that is where road access is. Thanks for the gen, if you can let us know when you have the timings for the rail move that would be most welcome
