Thanks to everyone at Statfold, first time I've been and honestly one of the best days out I've had!

And thanks to Henry for getting an invite to me at very short notice!

    Thoroughly recommended!

Just want to say I had a great day out at the statfold barn railway today. so many locos and theres always something new every year. marchlyn was my fave loco and looked stunning. was also good to see the 3 ex canadian locos back in the uk. looking forward to seeing them all restored again. question is, which one first? my pick would be liassic, as none of the other southam pecketts are working at the moment. but thats just me hehe. anyway once again a fantastic day and hats off to the statfold team. will be back next year for sure.

I suppose it would be sacrilege to ask if one of the various repatriated locos - both at the BLR and Statfold - is to be preserved 'as is' on account of their remarkable originality? I would like to think so but I doubt it.

As other people have said, this was an absolutely fantastic day! As a previously advised "heretic" can I say that the two Fairmont speeders in the grain store shed were for me the best things there (told you I was a heretic...) and please please Henry can we see one of them (at least) out working on the Field Railway next year?

As with all Statfold loco's, the only bits that are replaced are the bits that are worn out and have most probably been replaced in the past so even in steam they will be 'Original' whatever that is meant to be.
Anyway Rough Pup is doing sterling service as the 'left original' quarry gallery type Hunslet

Rough Pup is preserved in ex-quarry condition (except for a coat of pain) at the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum at Tywyn

I forgot about the guage change but I'm sure that's no problem to the team at SBR! As for heresy, I think Henry is right...

I was unaware of the presence of this loco. If one is preserved 'as is' that's fine.

Changing subject somewhat, and a question for Henry.

I see that the Joe Nemeth Landrover is allocated a Hunslet special projects works number (HE9903/2009). Does it actually carry it and, if so, where?
