Roll up, roll up, Saturday evening at the East Lancs. gala a QUINTULPE header, 5 Deltics on one train. That should be a fair sight.
3 of them are going over today via Barrow Hill from the NYMR. Times are on The Royal Scots Grey site.

I've heard of overkill but that's way beyond that.

is that viaduct strong enough to handle all that weight in such a limited area ?

I reckon that needs several thousand tons to do it justice.

Wrong weekend for me, I'll be bashing some things a little less powerful, aka 2 33s and a 20 at the Churnet Valley Diesel Weekend.

Maximum for the 5 loco lashup would be 14850 bhp, 9016 runs on one engine only. One good place to watch this spectacle is going across the crossing at Rammy station.
Local forecast is for sunny Saturday, wet for Sunday, so photting Saturday, travelling Sunday. But as my departed Father-in-law used to say - wouldn't pay weather forecasters with holes out of brass washers! One of the few jobs where you can continually get it wrong and not loose that job.

Indeed - a trip down to Merehead Quarry might be in order.

There was a very dark but noisy video on you tube from that run too.
