I visited the Llangollen Railway earlier today, and I was fortunate enough to meet a very nice chap who took me and a couple of relatives around the workshops and yard at Llangollen. I've managed to identify most of the locomotives we saw, from both previous knowledge or the fact the number's stamped on every single component, but I saw 2 or 3 sets of frames that looked like they were built for 0-6-0ST austerity locomotives. I looked them up, and I couldn't find them on the stock list. Also, there was a rogue small prairie, which wasn't 5532 or 5539. Help please???!!!

One of the Austerity frames is probably Welsh Guardsman (RSH 7170) from the Gwili

We only have 2 small prairies. And 2 large ones aswel! Where abouts was that one in the shed?

Welsh guardsman was the set of frames in front of the grange, with its boiler in the boiler shop.

68030 (j94alike) is in the process of being stripped down. Outside on the riverside siding is No 72, from the colne valley.

Jessie is also in the shed in several pieces!

It mildly resembled a small prairie, I might have been a bit too quick off the block with that one. It was in the same road as 5532 and 5539, I think. It could have just been a huge hallucination. I hadn't realised how much progress had been made on 4709! The frames are already up, however currently being held together by metal poles, like the 82045 frames were. It's interesting reading about the back stories for these projects.

That was 7754 then. All three on that road are progressing steadily!
The extension frames and buffer beam assembly from one of the Barry locos that were broken up at llan are there aswell somewhere for the 47xx.

Ah! That makes sense. The rear bunker/cab assembly looks rather similar when you're standing on the other side of the works. There were some LT-painted frames outside, what could they have been?

Thanks. I've finally got a clear picture of everything that was in there! Amazing workshop, with the mix of new builds, overhauls and long term restorations. Ask nicely and they give you a high vis jacket and a tour round. Brilliant experience.
