I pretty sure your right Ken. The boiler hasn't been certified yet. The steam test earlier this year was simply to see if repairs had been succesful.

 

Update on KWVR Facebook page, that full loco allocations will be on the web later today.

Can anyone confirm whether short hop tickets will be available, as per at the diesel gala, please? Unlikely to have the whole day free, but it'd be nice to go for a quick Damems return at lunch time

 

Seems a great shame that 1300 doesn't appear until so late in the day and is doing so little, it's first train is the 1300 off Keighley. It's only doing four trips, none on its own.

I think the whole point of it taking part in the gala is to see it paired with 957 before that opportunity is gone for a very very long time. Keep your fingers crossed there maybe other opportunities to run it by itself before it moves on.

 

Could it be that it has just returned from major boiler/firebox work so is taking things gentle?

 

Yes I know the main point of the loco coming to the gala is to run with 957 but having enjoyed riding behind it at the NNR gala in 2009 I was hoping it would be running for more of the day and that it would do a run on its own. I shall certainly keep my fingers crossed it does some more running days before it leaves as you say. A weekend of 1300 and 957 running a two train service would be super. 1300 acquitted itself very well on the NNRs gradients.

 

Don't know what the game plan is, but its commen to see a guest loco stay for the bear festival weekend.

 

The loco is likely to stay at the Railway for a while after the Gala although at present there is no intention to use it, obviously any change to this will be posted on the website.

In regards to the fact it doesn't work trains until the afternoon that is because it will spend the morning at Ingrow West with cab access to visitors.

You will have all noted by now the timetables will be free of charge, this was following YOUR feedback, I hope you all approve.

loco in steam at Haworth today, was it 957 or 1300, if its 957 its been turned if 1300 needs turning to face south

 

1300 arrived facing Keighley.

 

As did the Coal Tank. Plan to turn both

 

1300 was in steam today as part of its successful FTR exam, it is likely to be seen out and about prior to the gala
