    Good morning Bob,

I just wanted to wish you and all involved the very best for the auction tomorrow.

Sadly I will not be able to make it along, but I really hope that the items concerned find good homes and the Great British Weather plays ball!

    All the very best,

    Richard.

Hi Bob sadly I cant make it now due to my mother going in to hospital tomorrow, I hope everything finds a home, if it doesn't can you let this list know and I will try and ask around a few of my contacts who aren't on this list.

I would like to know subject to the new owner allowing the details to be publish where the 0-4-2 is going to end up as well as the Fellbahn, I am sure that deals can be reached with other groups for the storage or even long term use of any equipment that does not get sold tomorrow.

    good luck

Very busy day, very good outcome.
The gentleman who purchased the track has already started to lift it!
O&K spares on their way to Germany.
Good that everything has gone to good homes.
Thanks to everyone who came to Durley today.

My understanding is the the final prices will be up on the Salisbury Auctions website next week, but sales included: the Feldbahn £21000, the Hunslet £45000, the O&K diesel £26000.

As much as I admire Statfold for preserving the world’s great narrow gauge history, they're beginning to get a bit of a monopoly on the stuff!

Perhaps, but unlike a certain other private collection they are perfectly happy to share their toys. More power to Mr Lee and friends. Literally more power. :)

    We fully intend to.

We aim to put it back to "as built" condition.

Henry - 2ft 6 is nearly the original gauge, I don't suppose you fancy putting it to that per chance!!!!!!

Congratulations on the latest purchases. I look forward to seeing them in due course.

You guys really do have some collection now!

    Best regards, as ever,

    Rich.

Point taken Rich, but if its 2 ft it can visit more railways!

The difference between the Durley locos and Sybil is that the Durley locos had to be sold whereas Sybil does not; if she doesn't sell for the price James Evans wants he will simply keep her!

As with any auction some items sold for an amount over what might be considered reasonable, some sold at reasonable prices and some items sold for a pittance.

For those who like historical 'nuggets of info' - when I was looking at the Feldbahn James Evans came up to me, pointed at the tanks and said "I can tell you they're sound!". The welded tanks on the Feldbahn were those built by Evans Engineering in exchange for the works drawings for 'Lew', which were then used to build 'Lyd'. The tanks on the Hunslet were also built by EE.

    Unfortunately not.

The Isle of Wight railway put in a bid through the auctioneers but were outbid on the day. Hope it has gone to a good home where its origin will not be forgotten.
