    I happened to be driving past the JCB factory at Rocester (Staffordshire) I remember that in the late 1970's or early 1980's there was a industrial locomotive on a plinth. Is it still there or is my mind playing tricks? Can someone please put me out my misery?

    Mark Bamford collected locos for a time, the full listing is in the IRS North Staffs book. One, a Barclay, ended up in a playground in Rocester and is now being used for spares at Swindon & Cricklade

    Yes, just checked, Barclay 2352 of 1954 was outside the factory until 1977 when it went to the playground

    Wasn't Mark Bamford something to do with the "Titanic Steamship Co" that owned several "preserved" industrials which were later scrapped? Ray.
