Halls are limited on routes due to gauging issues but until this year I believe it's had a fair share of mainline work its been at Paignton for most this year no reason why but there was talk of it piloting the royal duchy but that didn't happen I was surprised when I saw it was going LE because i thought there was gauging issues on one the stations on the branch to Paignton obviously not .

I think there is a gauging problem but only in the Down direction. Hence it had to go down to Paignton on a low loader but could come back on the Up line no problem.

Apparently Torquay station platform edge was / is the problem for Halls in the down direction but not in the up.

4936 has arrived safely at the WSR and will be in operation all four days of the gala. It worked 30 days during its 4 months at Paignton, covering for washouts and repairs to 4277 and 7827. After the WSR she will be loaded for transport by lorry for delivery back the Tyseley where winter maintenance work is planned. I believe Vintage trains have some Hall tours planned in 2014.

No paths until late at night probably and just generally not the hassle I guess - so just move it by road.

She arrived at Reading on time (15.17) behind the Cross Country. A passenger told me it was held at Basingstoke
